2 Days Celebration for My Mom’s Birthday

Aside from the Kadayawan Festival, we also celebrated my mom’s 44th birthday last August 24, 2008. Only a three days gap between her and my sister’s birthday. The unusual thing about her birthday celebration is that it was celebrated for two days. A day before her birthday, we had a pre-celebration held at Marco Polo. It was a treat for my mom from my grandfather(Her Dad). For 668 PHP(Ouch!), you can have an eat-all-you-can lunch at Marco Polo. It was my second time there. Personally, this is way too expensive just for one meal but since it was free I grabbed the opportunity. By the way, senior citizens really got a big discount that is why a lot of them where there. The members of the family were only few due to the unfriendly price. Yes the price kills your budget, but the food was all worth it! Lunch, desserts, sweets, Japanese and grilled foods, you name it they have it. With that expensive price, the food you get in return were all prepared very well which is really satisfactory for all customers. I ate like there was no tomorrow! I even skipped dinner later that night due to full-tank stomach. Two local celebrities Drew Arellano and Chokoleit were also there doing taping for QTV’s TV program ‘BalikBayan’. I think me and my family will have a cameo on that taping.

On the actual day of my mom’s birthday, we started it by going to church together with my GF. It is the most special way to start and celebrate, give thanks to the Lord for the health and blessing He has given. After that we went home and my mom just cooked lunch. Later we went to my grandmother’s house at Lanang Exec. Homes to gather there. There was a little snack prepared and a birthday cake for my mom. Sadly me and my GF fell asleep due to hangover. For dinner we have a dinner at Banoks located in Torres St. Davao City. It was not as expensive like Marco Polo but the food being served was way too many we can’t ate them all. Another full stomach mode. After dinner we decided to have a little coffee at Kasagingan located just right beside Banoks. Torres St. really has lots of gigs and places to eat and gather with your friends.

I can say that my mom was so happy on her birthday. God bless my mom and we love you. Thank you for always being there. Happy Birthday.
